Text from a strange number
`Hi’ I received a text from an unknown number in the evening. As usual I rejected it because I thought someone should have sent it by mistake. `What’s up? Why no reply? Are you busy doing something?’ I received text from the same number again. `May I know who this is?’ I replied to that number. `You don’t know me, huh? It is me,’ I received a text again. `Well sorry, I don’t have a friend whose name is `me’. I think you send it to the wrong person, ’ I replied. `This is Rashi, right? ‘The next text spelled like that. `Yeah, ’ I send back to the number. `Well then its the right person who is getting this text, ’ I got a reply from that number. `Then tell me who this is?’ I asked again. `No, find me if you can, ’ I received a reply. `Well sorry sir, I don’t have time for your find me if you can game,’ I texted back to that number for the one last time in order to show I’m interested in continuing that conversation. I switched my phone off. I completed my studies, watched some television and gone for bed.
In the morning as usual, I walked to school. I was early that day. I reached in our meeting point and waited for my best friend to come. By 8.20am, I saw her coming. I wished her good morning. She wished me back. We started to walk to school. `Did you always do that?’ She asked me. `Do what?’ I asked her back. `Not replying to messages from an unknown number, ’ she said to me. `Wait a minute, how did you know that? Oh…god, it was you? Why on earth you didn’t say your name when you texted me the first time?’ I asked her. `I was just checking whether you can guess it or not. It was a wrong idea indeed, ’ she said to me. `I’m so sorry; I was not in a good mood. That is why I replied like that, ’ I said to her. `Never mind I should have told you, ’ she said. `Anyway how did you get my phone number?’ I asked her again. `I bought it from one of our classmates and thought to give a surprise to you by texting to you, ’ she said. `I never knew you own a phone, ’ I said to her. `Oh…that’s my mother’s number. But I use it when I’m home. I use to call all my friends from that number,’ she told me. It was a normal day at school, nothing happened. ‘Don’t forget to feed my number in your phone, ’ She said when we walked back to home. `Don’t forget to tell me your name when your text me for the first time from an unknown number, ’ I told her back. We reached home. When I was about to start doing my home works, I received a text from her. `Hi, its me again, ’ that how it looked like. `What is this 'me’s' name? Not Aishwarya, right? Hahaha…, ’ I texted back to her. `No…it’s not, my name is `me’ itself. What did you have to do with it?’ She replied me. `Well, me I have a best friend called Aishwarya, I thought this was her, ’ I told her. `Oh, really? I heard she died a half and hour ago, ’ She texted me back. `Are you serious? I never heard that. How tragic this news is? Let me go and celebrate the whole night, ’ I replied her. `I know you would celebrate when I die,’ She texted to me again. `Just kidding, what’s up what are you doing?’ I texted back to her. ` About to start studying,’ She texted to me.
